Purpose of the role:
The wrap-around support my client offer includes: career guidance, training, mentoring, coaching, work readiness programmes, psycho-social support, and personal development initiatives to students who stay in the programme from the end of grade 11, through university and includes their first working year is looking for a Database and Programme Administrator to join their team. This is a hybrid role therefore you must have a good internet connection and live close enough to travel to Sandton and Alexandra when needed.
 
Key performance areas:
General Operational support
Event Planning: transport and logistics, communications, planning and admin around various events throughout the year, attendance at events.
Administer the application and recruitment process –including data capture, interview and selection.
Manage various databases – from capturing applications, to updating existing course database, tracking progress of beneficiaries and student outcomes.
Programme administration
Communications with beneficiaries – various media including phone calls – assisting learners with online university applications, student follow up and support, etc.
Communications with external stakeholders – setting up job shadowing opportunities, events communications, sending out reports, etc
Social media support – Canva creation and interacting on social media sites
Building rapport and trusting relationship with learners and students
General student support
 
Minimum experience, knowledge, personal attributes and skills requirements:
At least 3 years’ work experience, in database administration.
High proficiency in Excel (PowerPoint and Word). An Excel test will be given.
Ability to work in other programs, like Google Forms and Canva would be an advantage.
Strong, proven admin, coordinating and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to meet deadlines and to high standards.
Meticulous data capture – eye for detail, error checking and problem solving around data.
Professional communication skills.
Be available for weekend functions and to make evening phone calls to school goers.
Be positive about the future of SA, and eager to make a difference in the lives of youth.
Self-starter and takes initiative.
Work well unsupervised, and communicate well with the team, and able to ask for help when needed.
