GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES PENSION FUND
With more than 1.2 million active members and around 480 000 pensioners and beneficiaries as well as assets worth more than R2.69 trillion, the Government Employees Pension Fund is a defined benefit fund that manages pensions and related benefits on behalf of government employees in South Africa. It is the largest pension fund in South Africa and Africa. The GEPF is currently seeking to appoint a suitably qualified individuals with the relevant experience to fill two positions of a Specialist: Indirect Funds and Co-Investments within the Investments Department.
 
SPECIALIST: INDIRECT FUNDS AND CO-INVESTMENTS X2
CENTURION
 
The purpose of this role is to implement, monitor and report on the GEPF’s internally managed private markets investment portfolio. The incumbent will evaluate and manage a portfolio of private market funds and co-investments while supporting portfolio performance, compliance monitoring, valuations,
due diligence and investment strategy implementation.
 
Qualifying requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Accounting, Business Science, Economics, Finance, Investment Management or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification or progress towards a professional qualification such as CFA or CAIA will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Investment Analysis, Institutional Investing, Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting, Private Equity Transactions and Mergers & Acquisitions.
  • Strong knowledge of private market investments, valuations and portfolio performance monitoring.
