Sector Specialist: Manufacturing (Research & Innovation) – Pretoria – Permanent
Salary: R1,530,144.00pa – R3,492,720.00pa (Based on knowledge, skills, and experience)
Overview:
To support both the Listed and Unlisted teams with the generation of well researched investment ideas, industry leading sector knowledge, strategic initiatives and contribute to growth in assets under management.
Minimum Requirements and Experience:
- Post Graduate Degree in Commerce, Finance or Engineering/Science
- Master’s degree/MBA/CFA would be preferred.
- Professional Body/Association
- CFA, CA or other
- At least 7 years’ relevant sector experience in the Manufacturing, Transport or ICT sector or as an Equity Analyst in one or more key sectors of the economy.
- Experience in undertaking research with implications for the economy and investments is key.
- Experience of implementing research views in portfolios would be highly desirable.
- Excellent understanding of the Manufacturing and ICT investment environment in South Africa and the Rest of Africa, with previous work experience in this area
- Must possess the desire and ability to work in a collaborative and intensive team-orientated environment.
- FAIS RE5 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment
Key Performance Areas:
- Produce Industry leading proprietary research that generates Investment views and ideas in the Manufacturing, Transport and ICT sectors.
- Identify investment opportunities in Manufacturing, Transport and ICT sectors.
- Undertake thematic research and thought leadership pieces in manufacturing, transport and ICT sectors.
- Develop and update sector investment strategies for manufacturing, transport and ICT sectors.
- Undertake market research analysis for unlisted transactions.
- Support the deal team during due diligence process and in evaluating potential investments
- Work with senior analysts and research analysts
