Our client is looking for an ambitious and dynamic individual to join their team as a Retail Store Manager
Job brief
The Retail Store Manager shall manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, ensuring smooth functioning, high sales, and excellent customer service.
The Retail Store Manager shall manage staff, optimising store performance and implementing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
• Staff Management: Hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and motivating employees.
• Customer Service: Ensuring a positive shopping experience, addressing complaints, and training staff on customer service standards.
• Inventory Management: Tracking stock levels, placing orders, and ensuring sufficient inventory to meet demand.
• Sales and Revenue Generation: Developing strategies to increase sales, achieving revenue targets, and improving profitability.
• Financial Management: Managing budgets, report on targets, monitoring expenses, and preparing financial reports.
• Store Appearance and Maintenance: Ensuring the store is clean, well-organized, and visually appealing.
• Compliance and Legal Issues: Ensuring the store complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Security and Loss Prevention: Implementing and enforcing security measures to prevent theft and loss.
• Communication and Leadership: Leading team meetings, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a positive work environment.
• Visual Merchandising: Collaborating with the visual merchandising team to create appealing displays.
• Day-to-Day Operations: Managing opening and closing procedures, ensuring smooth store operations, and resolving issues as they arise.
• Consumables and Refreshments: Managing pharmacy consumables and refreshments
• Tills Cash Up: Ensure that till are correctly cashed up
• Develop and enhance Policies and Procedures
• Petty Cash: Petty cash approvals and monitoring
• Any adhoc duties
Requirements and skills
• Matric
• Degree/National Diploma in commerce related qualification
• Candidate holding Pharmacy related certificate will enjoy preferential advantage
• Minimum of three years’ retail experience with leadership role within the three years
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Computer literate and be experienced with Ms Excel and Ms Word
• Report writing skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
• Willing to work retail hours
