About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Professional Officer to lead a comprehensive review and optimisation of job descriptions across the organisation. This role is critical in addressing operational inefficiencies, strengthening compliance, and aligning roles with strategic workforce objectives.
Outdated and inconsistent job descriptions have resulted in role ambiguity, recruitment challenges, and misaligned performance management. The successful candidate will play a key role in modernising job architecture to support organisational effectiveness and workforce flexibility.
 
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct a full audit of existing job descriptions across all departments
• Engage with line managers and leadership to clarify roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines
• Align job descriptions with Municipal Staffing Regulations
• Research, report and motivation writing
• Integrate job descriptions with recruitment, performance management (IPM), and workforce planning processes
• Create document management system to file and store all new job descriptions and supporting documentation
• Support change management and stakeholder buy-in throughout the process
 
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field
• 2 – 5 years’ experience in HR, with a strong focus on job evaluation, job design, or organisational development
• Proven experience in conducting job analysis and developing competency-based job descriptions
• Knowledge of labour legislation and HR best practices
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
