Purpose of the post:
To ensure payment of accounts to external companies for goods purchased and services rendered, transfer of funds to government institutions, public and private enterprise and the payment of salaries and allowances to employees.
Description of tasks:
Salary administration:
Processing all remunerative allowances due to employees and committee members
Process all salary deductions (i.e. statutory, discretionary, emoluments attachment orders, spousal and child maintenance, departmental debts)
Filing salary reports and pay point certificates
Distribute normal and supplementary salary advice
Assessment of project funding reports for surpluses:
Receive, assess and file project reports
Travel and Subsistence:
Calculate and process travel and subsistence claims and advances.
Administration of deduction disallowance, salary reversal, private telephone, pension fund and insurance schemes:
Reconciling and clearing of account balances
Administration of transfer and miscellaneous payments and verification of supplier bank details:
Paying all transfer and miscellaneous payments
Verify supplier’s bank details
Knowledge, Skills and Personal attributes:

Knowledge and understanding of Treasury Regulations
Knowledge of Income Tax Act
Knowledge of Tax Administration Act

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements:
A grade 12 certificate or equivalent relevant qualification
