Our client, a well-established company based in Umbilo, Durban, is looking for a qualified and experienced Electrician to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on, safety-conscious professional to work on a variety of electrical projects within a stable, growing operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment in line with safety standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Ensure all work complies with the relevant SANS codes and OHS Act regulations.
- Test electrical systems and components to ensure correct and safe functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on site.
- Liaise professionally with supervisors, colleagues, and clients on site.
- Keep tools, equipment, and the work area organised, clean, and safe at all times.
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician with a valid Wireman’s Licence.
- Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Sound knowledge of electrical installations, fault-finding, and repairs.
- Working knowledge of SANS 10142 wiring code and OHS Act requirements.
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a professional, reliable manner.
- Must be based in or willing to work in the Umbilo, Durban area.
