About
The Financial / Operational Accountant will be responsible for the full
accounting function of Picko Consulting and Explorius, including financial reporting, compliance, treasury, and operational finance support. This role will ensure accurate and timely reporting, strong internal controls, and support for operational decision-making.
Key Duties and Requirements
Financial Accounting & Reporting
• Maintain accurate general ledgers for Picko Consulting and Explorius.
• Prepare monthly trial balances and ensure all balances are reconciled.
• Post and review journals, accruals, and provisions.
• Ensure timely submission of monthly management accounts to the cluster team.
• Assist with year-end audit packs, working papers, and liaison with auditors.
• Prepare daily sales tracking reports, weekly flash reports, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and interim reporting packs.
Operational Finance & Cost Accounting
• Maintain and review inventory records, cost of sales, and stock valuation.
• Prepare stock movement and costing schedules.
• Monitor fixed assets register and capital expenditure reporting. Compliance & Controls
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, group accounting policies, and SARS requirements.
• Prepare VAT, EMP201s, and assist with corporate tax submissions.
• Monitor and manage adherence to internal controls and SOPs.
• Ensure all supporting documentation is filed and audit-ready.
Treasury & Banking Support
• Liaise with Bank for payments, inward remittances, and exchange control matters.
• Process daily payments and monitor cash flow.
• Support with foreign currency and supplier payments as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the local finance point-of-contact for Picko Consulting and Explorius.
• Work closely with the Group finance team, operations managers, and service providers.
Qualifications and Experience required
• BCom Accounting or equivalent (SAIPA/SAICA articles preferred).
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a group or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel.
