The Frontshop Assistant will be responsible for assisting customers in the pharmacy frontshop, processing sales transactions, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring a clean, organised, and customer-friendly retail environment. The role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle cash and stock accurately.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
    • Provide excellent customer service and attend to customer service queries and requests.
    • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
    • Handle customer complaints or compliments and report them to the supervisor or store management.
    • Process all purchases and payments accurately (cash, card, vouchers, coupons, and other accepted payment methods).
    • Be responsible for daily cash handling and ensure compliance with pharmacy cash control procedures.
    • Ensure that all outgoing items are scanned and paid for correctly.
    • Process loyalty cards and related transactions.
    • Assist with exchanges and returns in line with store policies.
    • Monitor stock levels and report low or out-of-stock items.
    • Receive stock according to pharmacy procedures and assist with stock control.
    • Ensure correct pricing and report any incorrect shelf labels.
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the frontshop area.
    • Assist with customer enquiries, telephone calls, and follow up on orders placed by customers.
    • Provide product information to customers to promote health and wellness products.
    • Be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to management.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
 
Minimum Requirements
    • Matric (Grade 12).
    • Post-matric qualification will be an added advantage.
    • 2 – 3 years’ relevant retail or pharmacy frontshop experience.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Good numeracy and basic maths skills.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    • Ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
    • Ability to work well within a team and in a fast-paced environment.
