Our client is a  growing logistics company based in the South of Durban with a diverse workforce across drivers, warehouse staff and office personnel. They are seeking a motivated junior HR professional to support our HR function as the business continues to expand.
 
  Purpose of the Role
The Junior HR Administrator will provide administrative support to the HR department across all people-related functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, leave management and compliance. This role offers excellent exposure to a broad HR environment within the logistics sector.
 
  Key Responsibilities
    • Maintain and update employee files and HR records (both electronic and physical)
    • Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process including posting adverts, screening CVs and scheduling interviews
    • Coordinate onboarding and induction for new employees
    • Administer the leave management system and track leave balances
    • Process new employee registrations, contract changes and terminations on the HR system
    • Assist with payroll preparation by collating timesheets, overtime, deductions and other input
    • Maintain compliance with South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA)
    • Support the HR Manager with disciplinary hearing documentation and scheduling
    • Coordinate staff training, skills development records and SETA submissions
    • Respond to general employee queries and escalate where necessary
    • Assist with Employment Equity and Workplace Skills Plan reporting
 
  Minimum Requirements
    • Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology or equivalent (NQF Level 6 minimum)
    • 0–2 years of HR administration experience (internship or work experience counts)
    • Basic working knowledge of South African labour law (BCEA, LRA)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Experience with an HR system such as SAGE HR, Payspace or similar is advantageous
    • Valid South African ID
