Our clients agency  is a private equity and private debt Fund based in Durban reporting to the KwaZulu Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA).
The Agency seeks to appoint experienced and suitably qualified Investment Officers.
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the successful candidates will be responsible for sourcing and screening investment opportunities, executing and closing transactions and actively managing portfolio investments. The role requires individuals that are driven by their commitment to contribute to private sector development, broad-based black economic empowerment and improving the lives of people in KwaZulu Natal by executing innovative, developmental, and profitable investments for the Agency
 
Key performance areas:
  • Debt origination and screening;
  • Credit and risk assessment;
  • Debt structuring and repayment profiling;
  • Financial modelling and analysis;
  • DSCR and sensitivity analysis;
  • Due diligence coordination;
  • Term sheet and legal documentation interpretation;
  • CP tracking;
  • Security and covenant understanding;
  • Investment memo and report writing;
  • Stakeholder and client relationship management;
  • Development impact assessment;
  • Project planning and execution management
 
The following minimum requirements must be met to be considered for this position:
 
  • An Honours Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Investment Management, Engineering, Business Science or related field;
  • A post-graduate qualification such as CA (SA), CFA or MBA or project finance training would be advantageous;
  • At least 5-8 years’ experience in project finance, corporate finance, credit banking, DFI lending, M&A, infrastructure finance or related deal-execution environment;
  • Investment proposal methodologies;
  • Understanding of legal agreements and security structures;
  • Portfolio risk monitoring;
  • Data analysis and interpretation
