 Role Overview:
Seeking a Programme and M&E Manager to lead the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes that strengthen the financial resilience of women-owned ECD businesses.
This is a key leadership role that blends strategic thinking, programme management, and data-driven insight, with a strong focus on learning, adaptation, and advocacy. The successful candidate will bring both analytical and people-oriented skills to ensure that interventions are impactful, measurable, and scalable.
 
Key Responsibilities
Program Design & Implementation
    • Lead the design and execution of behaviour change programs that drive sustained impact for women-owned ECD businesses.
    • Collaborate with product owners to integrate and optimize behaviour change elements within their respective verticals.
    • Own and manage specific product verticals end-to-end, including strategy, implementation, and monitoring
 
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL)
    • Design and implement a robust Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning framework aligned with the organization’s goals of impact, scalability, and resilience.
    • Develop and track indicators measuring enterprise growth, financial resilience, and women’s empowerment outcomes.
    • Oversee data collection processes from participating ECD enterprises, training sessions, and financial literacy rollouts.
    • Analyse both qualitative and quantitative data to generate actionable insights and learning.
    • Produce data-driven reports and dashboards to inform strategy, operations, and advocacy.
    • Lead periodic impact assessments (baseline, midline, endline) to evaluate programme effectiveness and ROI.
    • Facilitate internal learning sessions to review progress, surface lessons, and support adaptive management.
    • Build M&E capacity within the team, ensuring consistent use of tools, templates, and systems.
 
Team Leadership & Mentorship
    • Manage, mentor, and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and motivated team culture.
    • Build the capacity of the team through training and professional development opportunities.
 
Executive Support
    • Support the Managing Director with funder management, including relationship building, proposal writing, and reporting.
    • Contribute to the development of funding proposals and ensure timely, high-quality submissions.
    • Prepare detailed and insightful reports for board meetings and other key stakeholders.
    • Play an active role in fostering a positive organizational culture and overseeing HR-related processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and team development.
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to manage office operations and ensure the organization functions efficiently across all departments.
 
 
Qualifications and Experience Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Development Studies, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification advantageous).
    • 3–5 years’ experience in programme management, strategy, and M&E within the social impact or development sector.
    • Proven experience managing teams and working cross-functionally.
    • Familiarity with M&E frameworks and using data for decision-making and advocacy
    • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data and insights
    • Exceptional communication skills with experience tailoring messages for diverse audiences.
    • Demonstrated experience in team leadership, mentorship, and capacity building.
 
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
    • Proficiency in communications software & tools.
    • Experience working with township or rural communities in South Africa or similar contexts.
    • Passionate about social change, women’s economic empowerment, and community development.
    • Knowledge of the ECD or financial inclusion sectors.
