We are seeking a qualified and experienced Professional Nurse to join our clinic located within the pharmacy. The successful candidate will provide high-quality primary healthcare services, ensure excellent patient care, and support the efficient operation of the clinic.
The Professional Nurse will be responsible for delivering
Primary Health Care (PHC) services, assessing and treating patients, providing health education, and ensuring compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and pharmacy clinic standards. The role requires a compassionate healthcare professional with strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently.
Job Description
- Provide Primary Health Care (PHC) services to patients in the clinic.
- Conduct patient assessments, examinations, diagnosis, and administer immunisations within scope of practice.
- Administer treatments, medications, and injections as prescribed or according to clinical guidelines.
- Provide health education and counselling to patients on disease prevention, medication use, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Manage and maintain accurate patient records and clinic documentation.
- Ensure compliance with nursing regulations, pharmacy clinic policies, and healthcare standards.
- Monitor and manage chronic disease patients, including follow-ups where required.
- Assist with screenings, health checks, and wellness services offered by the clinic.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic clinical environment at all times.
- Manage clinic stock and medical supplies, ensuring adequate levels are maintained.
- Work collaboratively with the pharmacist and pharmacy team to support patient care.
- Provide professional, patient-centred care at all times.
- Perform administrative duties related to clinic operations when required.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Primary Health Care (PHC) qualification is essential.
- Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) training will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant clinical experience, preferably in a primary healthcare or clinic environment.
- Experience in immunisations, chronic disease management, and basic patient assessments.
- Strong patient care and clinical assessment skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage clinic operations.
- Good administrative and record-keeping skills.
