Sales & Service Manager South Africa
JOB SUMMARY
The Sales & Service Manager is responsible for carrying out customer‑focused sales and service activities for all
PMC (Paper Machine Clothing )products within the assigned territory (South Africa). The person is responsible for driving sales performance, delivering technical and commercial support, and ensuring high‑quality customer service for all PMC(Paper Machine Clothing ) products within the assigned territory. The role supports strategic business goals, contributes to product development initiatives, and ensures strong collaboration with internal departments to maximize customer satisfaction and company profitability.
SAFETY AND PROCEDURES
· Follow all publicized safety policies/procedures and JIBS applicable to the job.
· Use appropriate PPE that has been identified on the Hazard Analysis for the department/role.
· Attend and participate in all safety training, safety meetings, audits and Behavior Based Safety programs assigned.
· Report all safety hazards observed. If capable, correct the safety hazard identified
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Sales Performance & Territory Management
· Achieve turnover and sales targets within the
assigned geographic area.
· Secure commercially optimal orders and ensure
timely commissioning and value demonstration
of all deployed products.
· Regularly monitor customer demand and order
backlog.
· Ensure compliance with agreed maximum
storage periods for finished goods at each
customer location.
2. Strategic & Operational Support
· Support budget preparation and participate in
S&OP planning processes.
· Continuously identify opportunities for business
development, efficiency improvement, and
market growth.
3. Technical Expertise & Application Support
· Provide technical guidance and application
support for the correct and efficient use of PMC
products.
· Select appropriate products for quotations and
customer orders.
· Deliver metrological support and comparative
performance analyses for PMC and competitor
products on paper machines.
4. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination
· Work in close partnership with Internal Sales and the TASK department to ensure excellent execution and customer satisfaction.
· Participate in the development and enhancement of market-driven products in collaboration with the Application EMEA team.
5. Customer Relationship Management
· Prepare regular written reports documenting customer visits, interactions, and action plans.
· Maintain accurate and comprehensive customer files, including all relevant technical data, in the designated IT systems.
· Handle customer complaints from both technical and commercial perspectives, in accordance with corporate guidelines (Task Catalog 523.2).
6. Market & Competitor Analysis
· Conduct ongoing monitoring of competitor activities, technologies, and market trends. · Identify new application areas for existing and future products and services, contributing to long-term innovation and market positioning.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
· Strong sales acumen and proven ability to achieve commercial targets.
· Solid technical understanding of PMC products and paper machine processes. · Excellent communication, reporting, and customer-relationship skills.
· Ability to work autonomously while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration.
· Analytical mindset with capacity to identify improvement and development opportunities.
· Willingness to travel as required (+- 60%).
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills:
Good technical understanding for process industry. Solid technical understanding of PMC( Paper Machine Clothing )
Required Experience:
A minimum 5 years of experience as Sales & Service in B2B Sales. Experience in the PMC industry
Education Requirements:
College Diploma
