Purpose of the post:
To contribute to the provision of a fair, equitable, transparent, competitive and cost effective to supply chain management services in line with the enabling regulations of the government.
 
Description of tasks:
Ordering/ purchasing of goods and services:
    • Capture requisition on LOGIS.
    • Check and amend procurement advice for authorization daily.
    • Correctly perform online orders authorization daily
    • Maintain all orders in accordance with LOGIS requisites daily.
    • Correctly create orders on LOGIS.
    • Verify transaction and generate orders on LOGIS
    • Link orders to the correct supplier and Chief user
    • Mail authorised orders to service providers
    • Maintenance of the LOGIS database
Liaison with suppliers and End-users:
    • Inform End-users via e- mail/telephonically about expected deliveries
    • Communicating with external vendors
Record keeping and filing:
    • Numerically file procurement advices
    • Numerically file copy of orders
    • Forward documentation to transit
    • Assist with the maintenance of the database
Compilation of commitment reports:
    • Conduct monthly order follow ups and update commitment report
    • Modify commitment relieve date on Portal to ensure accurate monthly reporting
Administrative functions:
    • Perform other duties, including administrative related to the job for effective performance of the Unit.
    • Provide functional advice and technical guidance to management and stakeholders
    • Provide progress reports and monitor risk management
 
Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes:
    • Knowledge and understanding of LOGIS and BAS
    • Knowledge and understanding of SCM processes and procedures
    • Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act (BBBEAA)
    • Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA)
    • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
    • Treasury Regulations
    • An understanding of the technical aspects of the position
    • Good verbal and written communication

Qualifications and experience requirements:
    • Experience in a similar role advantageous
    • Matric certificate or other related equivalent relevant qualification
