Senior Manager: Cyber Forensics and Forensic Data (Permanent) – Pretoria
Salary range: R1,426,380.45 to R1,860,402.73 per annum (Plus Medical Aid Subsidy)
Overview:
To lead and oversee the provision of cyber forensics and forensic data expertise during national, provincial and strategic investigations into maladministration and corruption within State institutions, in support of the Multi-Disciplinary Approach (“MDA”) to all projects/assignments across the organisation.
Manage cyber investigations, digital forensics, and incident response engagements per applicable methodologies. Proficiency in identifying the systems and logs for analysis, documentation and report writing. Knowledge of networks, operating systems, databases, static and dynamic malware analysis, reverse engineering, digital forensics and cloud analytics.
Minimum Requirements and Experience:
- B Honours Degree in:
- Cyber Forensics or Data Forensics or related field (NQF 8).
- Formal Project Management qualification or an approved Cyber or Data Forensics Certification would be advantageous.
- Membership with a professional body would be advantageous.
- Six (6) to eight (8) years in Cyber or Forensic Data Investigations, of which four years are at a management level.
Required knowledge and Behavioural (include but not limited to):
- Thorough knowledge of the laws, rules, and legal precedents pertaining to evidence, searching of premises, and the technical aspects of providing digital forensic services.
- In-depth Knowledge of:
- The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act), and
- Regulation of Interception of Communications Act (RICA Act) legislation.
- In-depth knowledge of:
- Network systems, computer hardware and Windows operating systems.
- Sound knowledge of relevant international legal conventions and instruments.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of:
- Windows and Linux operating systems and thorough knowledge of Mac operating systems, as well as mobile devices and cellular communications.
- Expert understanding of digital and data forensic processes, including acquisition, examination, analysis, and reporting.
- Knowledge of project management principles, methodology and practice.
- Sound knowledge of forensic quality assurance and quality management systems.
- Knowledge of financial principles.
Key Performance Areas:
- Management of the Delivery of Cyber Forensics and Forensics Data, Involvement in National, Provincial and Strategic Projects Requiring Cyber Forensics and Forensics Data Expertise.
- Development of the Cyber Forensics and Forensics Data Area.
- Staff Management.
- Stakeholder Management and Business Development.
- Be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive data and cybersecurity program that aligns with The Company objectives and ensures compliance with industry regulations.
- Lead the collection, interpretation and analysis of massive volumes of data, leveraging complex financial or statistical modelling, fraud detection and other suspicious transaction techniques to address operations’ day-to-day requirements.
- Analyse large and disparate data to support or refute the facts and allegations of disputes, investigations and litigations.
