Senior Professional Officer – Community Engagement

Our client is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their team as a Community Engagement  Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving community participation and engagement efforts while working closely with local stakeholders, councillors, and management.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Your role will involve a range of community-focused tasks, including:
    1. Community Participation
    2. Organizing and attending Community Meetings
    3. Collaborating with the local Ward Councillor
    4. Supporting Tenant Management efforts
    5. Partnering with the local SNAC and various stakeholders, including Neighbourhood Watch and ECD’s
    6. Writing Minutes and Reports for weekly meetings
    7. Reporting to Management on activities and progress
 
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
    • Qualification: A B-Degree or National Diploma
    • Experience: 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in community work or a similar role
    • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office
    • Additional Skills:
        • Strong problem-solving abilities
        • Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship-building capabilities
        • Project management skills
        • Outstanding communication skills
        • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
        • Innovative, with the ability to take initiative
        • Understanding of community dynamics and strong leadership skills
 
Note: The appointed individual must have their own transport, as the role requires moving between different sites, where the use of public transport is impractical.
