About the Role
Our organisation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor Storeman to join our Back of House team.
This pivotal role ensures our world-class facilities maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational excellence across the Convention Centre, Arena, and Exhibition Centre.
As a BOH Supervisor, you will oversee cleaning operations, manage culinary equipment inventory, and lead a team of stewards to deliver exceptional service standards that support our reputation as a premier international venue.
Key Responsibilities
Supervisory & Quality Control
- Oversee general cleaning operations across all back-of-house areas, including kitchens, pantries, and catering zones
- Supervise BOH stewards in executing daily cleaning duties including dishwashing, drain cleaning, and kitchen maintenance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, food safety protocols (HACCP/ISO 22000), and audit readiness
- Monitor cleaning of 16 pantries, kitchen machinery, cold kitchens, Café, and Lounge
- Manage waste removal and recycling operations
Stock Control & Equipment Management
- Coordinate receiving, storage, and issuing of culinary equipment
- Verify purchases against supplier delivery notes and maintain accurate stock records
- Conduct regular stock counts and manage inventory schedules
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained, stored, and allocated according to operational needs
- Monitor consumables usage to control costs effectively
Administration
- Maintain daily attendance registers and complete check sheets
- Conduct stock takes of operational equipment including plates, platters, serving gear, and chafing dishes
- Draft rosters under guidance of the Back of House Manager
- Participate in weekly operations and function planning meetings
- Support set-up and breakdown of functions, including external catering and satellite kitchens
Essential Requirements
Qualification:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in the hospitality sector
Experience & Skills:
- Previous supervisory cleaning experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of HACCP or ISO 22000 food safety standards
- Experience with industrial cleaning equipment, products, and chemical applications
- Understanding of waste recycling practices
- Excellent people and team management skills
- Good command of English (written and verbal)
